TroubleshootingGuest Can't Access Shared Process

Guest Can’t Access Shared Process

If someone you’ve shared a process with can’t access it, try these fixes.

Guest Access Not Enabled

The process may not have guest access turned on. Without it, only signed-in team members can run the process.

Fix: Open the process in the editor, go to Settings, and toggle Allow guest access on. Make sure to publish the change.

Double-check that you’ve shared the correct run link. The link should point to your process’s run page.

Fix: Copy a fresh link from the process editor’s Share button or from the Run Process modal.

Process Not Published

Run links only work for published processes. If the process is still in draft mode, guests will see an error.

Fix: Open the process and click Publish.

Custom Subdomain Issues

If your team uses a custom subdomain, make sure:

  • The subdomain is correctly configured in Settings > Branding.
  • The guest is using the correct URL (either your subdomain or the default app.getnextstep.io).

Browser Issues

Occasionally, browser caching or cookie settings can cause access problems.

Fix: Ask the guest to try:

  • Opening the link in an incognito/private window
  • Clearing their browser cache
  • Using a different browser

Still Having Trouble?
